Okay. See if this makes sense. As the pack rolls through a fairly deserted stretch of area (the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee come to mind) their lead reporter, Matt Pollard, who I'm assuming is wired with a camera himself, is siezed and kidnapped while sleeping. A group of militant unionists, or whatever, decide that this will be a great way to get the message out, and demand that Pollard film them making demands, reading manifestos, etc.
The Network loves it, they know that Pollard probably won't get killed, and it's HUGE ratings. But...to satisfy the moral imperative, they send a team (our intrepid characters) to rescue Pollard...and the rescue mission is covered by another Net 54 reporter.
Thing is, the guy they get was the number two man for the job of Canvas America, and he may or may not have a hidden agenda...
