Hopewell

Hopewell is a small community of about 200 people in southeastern Kansas, surrounded by land ruined by the Bioplague. Its inhabitants live in small units, usually consisting of a family unit. They hunt, raise and grow their own food on 150 of the acres, and pump and refine their own oil from an old oil pump long since forgotten by its original owners. Hopewell itself sits on 500 acres, backing up to the banks of the Neosho River. Thick woodland, old farming equipment, trucks, and barbed wire fencing surround the remaining perimeter, with guard posts set up in strategic locations. The closest town is the now deserted Oswego, Kansas.

Ammunition for defense was acquired via an abandoned ammo plant 20 miles to the north, whereas farming equipment was readily available from the many farms that were laid to waste. They must defend themselves from wandering bands of Nomads, Bioplague victims and various corps that would like to have the land (but can’t get to it “legally”)
