"You mean to tell me he's a robot?"

Robots are the basis of Delos' vacation package, you can screw them, abuse them, even kill them. Do whatever your heart desires and it doesn't matter because they aren't real, at least not in the sense of human beings being real. You pay $1,000 a day the play out your fantasies whether they consist of brutality & lust or of a higher moral road.

Each of the robots are controlled via a massive computer network that is monitored by a staff of technicians underneath Delos. They are programmed not to harm humans, but can attack each other. The robot types range anywhere from snakes to the humans on the streets and the horses they ride. It is a very controlled environment as the island is bare of any living creatures.

The robots were designed to be easy to maintain, and when damaged or killed, easy to repair. The illusion of death and dismemberment is achieved through the use of small explosives underneath the dermal layer of the robots shell. when activated by "firing" a gun at the robot, the sensor layer tells the corresponding explosive pack to detonate forcing the blood pack to rupture and to rip apart the dermal layer giving the effect of a wound. there is an armor layer backing the dermal layer which prevents the explosive charge from affecting the inner workings of the robot. The depth of the charges and blood packs vary from robot to robot as to give the perception of depth to the wounds. areas like the chest will be more shallow that the areas around the legs and  lower torso. If a sharp instrument is used, like a sword, the dermal layer will be cut as normal, causing the robot to bleed, the sensors will pick up on the damage, and the robot will act accordingly.

Each of the robots uses lightweight alloys and plastics so they weigh approximately the same as a human of the same build. As one can guess they are not built to be used in extended combat situations, but they are tough nevertheless.

"Gunslinger. Must be a model 404, maybe a 406.
If he is a 406, he's got all the sensory equipment."

The Robots of Delos are extraordinary pieces of machinery, controlled by a central computer. each one is designed to perform a specific function in the park. there are three basic models, each with variations setting them apart from the others.

The personalities of the robots are kept in a central database, every move, action and word they speak is controlled by a centralized computer that uses the robots audio and video inputs for information which is then fed to a Delos Technician to monitor. They will perform as an average human would as to not give them any undue advantage over the paying customers.

The first model, the pedestrian, is the most common. These models are the bartenders, the wait staff and the shop keepers of the various worlds. their functions are simple... keep the place running and looking authentic. These will usually be unarmed.

The second model is the "sex" model. As the name implies they are designed for the pleasure of the guests. These will be the serving wenches, the saloon girls, and others.

Lastly there are the "combat" models. these are the ones that make themselves available to the guests to fight with and "kill". They are intimidating, and somewhat more skilled than the rest of the models when it comes to fighting. These models will always be armed, some will be aggressive. Robots of this classification will appear as gunslingers,  knights and centurions. Newer models have been equipped with enhanced sensory technology which were installed as a safety precaution giving technicians better response time in conjunction with a better view of the guest's actions.
